Was bedeutet die ENBA-Shortlist?

Die European Natural Beauty Awards, kurz ENBA, zeichnen hochwertige Naturkosmetikprodukte aus, die hinsichtlich ihrer Rezeptur, Qualität und Anwendung überzeugen.

Bereits vor der Aufnahme in das Auswahlverfahren werden die Inhaltsstoffe der eingereichten Produkte geprüft. Zugelassen werden ausschließlich Produkte, die den strengen Anforderungen der ENBA an den natürlichen Ursprung ihrer Rezeptur entsprechen.

Anschließend werden die ausgewählten Produkte über einen Zeitraum von 90 Tagen unter realistischen Alltagsbedingungen getestet. Dabei fließen die Bewertungen unabhängiger Jurymitglieder aus zahlreichen europäischen Ländern ein. Zur Jury gehören Fachleute aus Handel, Forschung, Zertifizierung, Nachhaltigkeit und Medien sowie Vertreterinnen und Vertreter der Verbraucherperspektive.

Was wir der Jury präsentieren

Vor der Jury steht unsere Auromère® Ayurvedische Kräuter-Zahncreme mit 24 ayurvedischen Pflanzenextrakten.

Ihre Rezeptur orientiert sich an den Grundgedanken der ayurvedischen Pflege und verbindet ausgewählte Pflanzenextrakte mit mineralischen Putzkörpern und aromatischen Pflanzenölen. Das Ergebnis ist eine milde, nur wenig schäumende Zahncreme mit einem charakteristischen würzig-frischen Geschmack.

Im Mittelpunkt stehen nicht intensive Schaumbildung oder ein überdeckender Minzgeschmack, sondern eine bewusst zusammengestellte Pflanzenkomposition für die tägliche Mundpflege.

Was die Kräuter-Zahncreme besonders macht

24 ayurvedische Pflanzenextrakte

Die Rezeptur vereint eine außergewöhnlich große Auswahl an Pflanzen. Dazu gehören unter anderem Neem, Miswak, Süßholz, Gewürznelke, Granatapfel, chinesische Dattel, Rosenapfel, Barleria, Akazie und Ceylon-Zimt.

Jede dieser Pflanzen besitzt eine lange Tradition innerhalb der ayurvedischen Pflegekultur. In der Zahncreme bilden sie eine harmonisch abgestimmte Gesamtkomposition.

Ohne zugesetztes Fluorid

Der Rezeptur wird kein Fluorid zugesetzt. Miswak, auch als Zahnbürstenbaum bekannt, kann jedoch von Natur aus geringe Mengen Fluorid enthalten. Deshalb sprechen wir bewusst von einer Zahncreme ohne zugesetztes Fluorid und nicht von einer vollständig fluoridfreien Rezeptur.

Ohne Tenside und schäumende Füllstoffe

Die Zahncreme kommt ohne zugesetzte Tenside und schäumende Füllstoffe aus. Dadurch entsteht beim Putzen nur wenig Schaum. Das fühlt sich zunächst vielleicht ungewohnt an, ermöglicht jedoch eine ruhige und angenehme Anwendung, ohne dass der Mund mit Schaum gefüllt wird.

Denn gründliche Reinigung ist keine Frage der Schaummenge.

Sanfte mineralische Reinigung

Calciumcarbonat und Silica dienen als mineralische Putzkörper. Sie unterstützen die mechanische Reinigung der Zähne und tragen zu einem angenehm glatten und gepflegten Zahngefühl bei.

Würzig-frischer Geschmack

Ceylon-Zimt, Thymian, Pfefferminze, grüne Minze, Eukalyptus und Anis verleihen der Zahncreme ihr unverwechselbares Aroma. Der Geschmack ist nicht übermäßig scharf oder dominant, sondern mild, kräuterig und angenehm frisch.

Ergiebige Rezeptur

Für die tägliche Anwendung genügt bereits eine erbsengroße Menge. Die kompakte Rezeptur lässt sich gut auf der Zahnbürste verteilen und ist besonders ergiebig.

Vegan und zertifizierte Naturkosmetik

What Our ENBA Shortlisting Means – and What We Put in Front of the Jury

Some products follow a passing trend. Others stand out because of a thoughtfully developed formula, carefully selected botanicals and a clear philosophy. We are therefore delighted that apeiron’s Auromère® Ayurvedic Herbal Toothpaste has been shortlisted for the European Natural Beauty Awards 2026.

For us, this recognition is particularly meaningful. The evaluation is not simply about attractive packaging or a compelling story. It considers the product as a whole – from its formulation and application to its performance in everyday life.

What does being shortlisted by ENBA mean?

The European Natural Beauty Awards, or ENBA, recognise high-quality natural beauty products that demonstrate excellence in formulation, quality and user experience.

Before entering the main evaluation process, submitted products undergo an ingredient review. Only products that meet the ENBA’s strict requirements concerning the natural origin of their formulations are eligible.

Selected products are then tested for 90 days under real-life conditions. The evaluation involves independent jury members from across Europe, including professionals from retail, research and development, certification, sustainability and the media, as well as representatives of the consumer perspective.

The evaluation considers aspects such as:

• formulation quality and distinctiveness
• user experience and sensorial qualities
• performance in everyday use
• sustainability
• packaging

• relevance to the European natural beauty market

We are proud that our herbal toothpaste has reached this stage. It demonstrates that a long-established product can remain highly relevant precisely because it does not follow every short-lived trend.

What we are putting in front of the jury

The product presented to the jury is our Auromère® Ayurvedic Herbal Toothpaste with 24 Ayurvedic plant extracts.

Its formulation draws inspiration from Ayurvedic care traditions, combining selected botanical extracts with mineral cleaning agents and aromatic plant oils. The result is a mild, low-foaming toothpaste with a distinctive spicy and fresh flavour.

Rather than relying on intense foam or an overpowering mint sensation, the formula focuses on a carefully balanced botanical composition for daily oral care.

What makes the herbal toothpaste special?

24 Ayurvedic plant extracts

The formula brings together an exceptional selection of botanicals, including neem, miswak, liquorice, clove, pomegranate, Chinese date, Java plum, barleria, acacia and Ceylon cinnamon.

Each of these plants has a long tradition in Ayurvedic care. Within the toothpaste, they form a carefully balanced and harmonious botanical composition.

No added fluoride

No fluoride is added to the formulation. Miswak, also known as the toothbrush tree, may naturally contain small amounts of fluoride. For this reason, we deliberately describe the toothpaste as containing no added fluoride, rather than claiming that the formula is entirely fluoride-free.

No surfactants or foaming fillers

The toothpaste is formulated without added surfactants or foaming fillers. It therefore produces very little foam during brushing.

This may feel different from conventional toothpaste at first, but it creates a calm and comfortable brushing experience without filling the mouth with foam. After all, effective cleaning is not determined by the amount of foam a toothpaste produces.

Gentle mineral cleaning agents

Calcium carbonate and silica serve as mineral cleaning agents. They support the mechanical cleaning of the teeth and help leave them feeling pleasantly smooth and well cared for.

A spicy, refreshing flavour

Ceylon cinnamon, thyme, peppermint, spearmint, eucalyptus and anise give the toothpaste its distinctive aroma. The flavour is not excessively sharp or overpowering. Instead, it is mild, herbal and pleasantly fresh.

A concentrated formula

Only a pea-sized amount is required for daily use. The concentrated, creamy formula spreads easily across the toothbrush and makes the toothpaste particularly economical.

Vegan and certified natural cosmetics

Auromère® Ayurvedic Herbal Toothpaste is vegan and part of our certified natural cosmetics range. The glycerin used in the formula is plant-based and derived from coconut oil.
